A
the ratio of cells undergoing mitosis to the total number of cells in the sample

Outline how to prepare a root tip slide…
A
- warm 1M HCl in a 60C water bath
- place root tip in HCl for 5 minutes
- remove roots and wash with distilled water
- cut a thin sample from the root tip and prepare slide, adding stain

to make chromosomes visible
