What is the scientific method?
make observations, form hypothesis, test hypothesis (experiments), and analyze data/make conclusion
True or False: Hypothesis can be proven correct
False- hypothesis can only be supported or proven false
What is a hypothesis?
educated guess, can only be proven false with evidence
What is a prediction?
if….. then… statement, predicts how one variable affects others
What is an independent variable?
“what I change”, can only have one
What is an dependent variable?
“observed or measured”
What is a standardized/controlled variable?
all conditions that could affect results are kept constant
What is a control group?
not subjected to independent variable
