Explain the composition of a Marine Logistics Group
It is composed of:

What are the different echelons of maitenance?
Organizational, Intermediate and Depot
Organizational Maintainence
Performed by a using organization on its assigned equipment. (Inspecting, Lubricating and Adjusting plus parts replacement, minor and sub assemblies) first and second echolon maintenance
Intermediate Maintainence
Performed by designated maintenance activities for direct support of using organizations. (Calibration, repair or replacement of damaged or unserviceable parts, emergency manufacture if non-available parts and technical assistance to organizations) third and forth echolon maintenance
Depot Maintainence
Performed on materials requiring major overhaul or a complete rebuild or parts, asseblies and end items. Fifth echolon maintenance
What is the function of a Maintenance Battalion?
Provides general support and intermediate (3d & 4th echelon) maintenance support for Marine Corps-furnished tactical ordnance, engineering, motor transport, communications electronics, and general support equipment of the MEF.
What is the element of the MAGTF that provides logistics support?
For a MEF, it will be MLG. For a MEB, it will be a CLR and for a MEU, it will be a CLB. SMAGTF size may vary depending on the size and mission of the MAGTF.
What types of supports does Medical Battalion provide?
Provides direct and general medical support to the MEF up through the second echelon of care.
What is the function of Transportation Support Battalion?
To provide transportation for supplies, equipment and personnel.
What is the LCE of a MEF and how does it relate to the support/supported concept of operations?
The Logistics Combat Element (LCE) is the Marine Logistics Group (MLG) and it is the supporting element. (60 days sustainment)
What is the LCE of a Marine Expeditionary Brigade (MEB)?
Combat Logistic Regiment (CLR) which can logistically support a community of 30,000 Marines and Sailors for 30 days.
What is the LCE of a Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU)?
The Logistics Combat Element (LCE), is a Combat Logistics Battalion (CLB) with sustainment for 15 days

Class V: Ammunition
Class VI: Personal demand items (nonmilitary sales items)
Class VII: Major end items: a final combination of end products that is ready for its intended use
Class VIII: Medical materiel, including medical-unique repair parts
Class IX: Repair parts and components
Class X: Materiel to support nonmilitary program
What is the mission of the MLG?
Provides general and direct support and sustained combat logistics above the organic capabilities of supported elements.
Sustains the MAGTF in the functional areas of combat logistics during deployment and employment of the MEF and smaller, geographically separated MAGTFs in all levels of conflict.
What are the six functional areas of Marine Logistics Support?
Supply, maintenance, transportation, general engineering, health services, other support services.
What is War Reserve Material?
Mission-essential principal end items, secondary items, and munitions required to attain operational objectives in the scenarios authorized for sustainability planning and other stockage objectives approved for programming in the Defense Planning Guidance.
WRM inventories are acquired during peacetime and they provide an expansion capability that can respond to spectrum regional contingencies.
