Self assessment
To consider one’s strengths and weaknesses, build upon those strengths and work on those weaknesses, focus on the person one wants to become
Career
Occupation undertaken for a significant period of time of ones life with opportunities for progress
Career goals
A broad set of objectives that need to occur in order to achieve desired career
Personal Profile
A summary of self assessment activities that lists achievements, interests, skills, intelligence types, learning styles and personal characteristics
Personality Type
Categorization of personalities, and their association to compatible work environments
Values
Priorities and beliefs that hold particular imporatance for a person
Interest
An area personal enjoyment, curiosity and ability
Skill
Ability or capacities that can be acquired and improved with experience, practice and training
Opportunities
Possibilities. Chances for advancing toward ones goals
Credentials
Document, reference or experience that recommends or qualifies a person for a job
Portfolio
A collection of relevant and related information
Learning style
Primary way a person learns - visual, auditory or kinestatic
Potential
Unexplored or undeveloped capabilities or possibilities
Multiple intelligences
A theory that each person has 8 different intelligences or “smarts”
School skills
Abilities or capacities that are acquired and improved while in school
Communication skills
Ability to speak,listen and write carefully with due attention to the message and the audience
Teamwork skills
A persons set of “group dynamics” abilities how a person works and gets along with others
Job
A specific set of duties performed for a specific employer in a prescribed location or range of locations for a specific rate of pay
Occupation
A cluster of jobs with similar tasks or skills performed at a variety of locations
Fields of work
Grouping of relation occupations
External influences
Values and attitudes that a person receives family, friends, cultural and religious groups and society
Personal management skills
Skills that people use to manage themselves in relation to factors such as time, goals, money and risk and change
Self motivation
Encouraged into action by ones self
Feedback
Information about ones behaviour and performance
