  • have patient face bucky and then turn head to a lateral

  • use wedge filter on top half

  • close collimate to sinuses

  • exit at acanthion

  • move patients head away from bucky, then get them to open their month, then put them back

Lateral nasal bones (bilateral)

A
  • 18x24cm
  • sanitize IR and lead masking
  • crosswise
  • 2 views, must use a cassette
  • on table, no grid
  • lead masking for 2( 1 IR) - clean cassette and lead masking
  • put patient in recovery position to start
  • IOML perpendicular to IR
  • make sure head isn’t tilted or rotated
  • include anterior nasal spine
  • center inferior to nasion

Oblique inferosuperior (tangential) Zygomatic arches

  • sit patient on a chair( 1 foot away)
  • neck hyperextended (SMV)
  • Rotate Head 15* towards affected side
  • Tilt chin 15* towards affected side
  • center through arches(put finger on arch to see if the beam is going through)
  • Tight collimation
