A
Comte believes in the englightenment project and that science could discover factual knowledge which could be used to improve society. Sociology is the queen of the sciences as without it we wouldn’t know how to fix social problems. By us isn’t positivist reasearch we should be able to say with scientific certainty what is the best for society.

Modern positivists
A
Positivists in the 20th century believed that their own values were irrelevant to the research as the natural sciences do not include morals and opinions so sociology shouldn’t. Sociologists should remain morally neutral by establishing the truth rather than judging people’s behaviour
