What is the blood supply of vertebral bodies and spine?
VB:
Ascending cervical, intercostal, lumbar segmental
Basilar vertebral vein - intercostal vertebral venous plexus - segmental veins
Spinal cord:
Vertebral artery - anterior spinal, postolateral spinal
Aorta - radiculomedullary, arteria radicularis magna
Segmental veins - medulla, vertebral, azygos, lumbar
What is the difference between male and female sacrum?
Width of body of 1st sacral vert less than ala in female and wider in male
Articular surface of S1 joint 2 vert in female and 2 and a half in male
Anterior surface flat superiorly in female, male uniformly concave
What are the 3 ligaments that stabilized the atlantoaxial joint
Membrana tectoria - posterior LL from axis to anterior margin of foramen magnum
Cruciform ligament - transverse band attached to atlas, body of axis to FM
Apical and alar ligament - tip of dens to FM
Name the ages of ossification centres of vertebrae.
Vertebra - transverse process and spinous process - 16 and fuse at 25
Atlas - anterior arch and lateral process -fuse by 6
