What two heating sources are used? Where are they used
1) Hot Air (HP): i- Slats 3,4,5. ii- Engine intake
2) Electric: i- cockpit windows ii- Probes and sensors iii- Drain mast
How can the crew test the WAI on the ground?
Pressing WING pb starts a 30s test
What happens to N1 when WAI or EAI is selected?
N1 limit reduces
N1 idle increases
What happens to WAI/EAI valves in electric failure?
1) WAI valves close
2) EAI valves open
What does the WING pd fault light indicate?
1) valve disagreement
2) low air press
How is WAI displayed on ECAM when on?
Green triangles with A ICE on the sides
What does EAI fault light indicate?
valve disagreement
What controls window heating? Probes heating
2 Window Heat Computers (one on each side)
3 Probe Heat Computers
When does window/probe heat come on automatically? Manually?
AUTO: At least one engine running or inflight.
MAN: PROBE/WINDOW HEAT pb on before engine start
What power modes does windshield heating have? Can it be controlled by the crew?
It is fully automatic.
Low Pwr on Ground. Normal inflight
Are TAT probes heated on the ground?
No
When is Rain RPLNT inhibited?
A/C on the ground with engines stopped
