Mendoza has the Andes mountain range, the longest mountain range on earth and the highest outside Asia, with peaks up to 18,000 feet. The Andes create a rain-shadow, which means that Mendoza is one of the driest regions on earth, with 3 times less rain fall than Napa. In combination, Mendoza is dry, sunny, but cool in high elevation parts.
