- 4.2.1.1 General
No person may operate a civil aircraft unless it has been registered.
- 4.2.1.2 Registration Eligibility
- Aircraft is eligible for registration if it is:
✓ Owned or leased by a citizen of the Philippines.
✓ Not registered in other foreign country.
✓ 60% capital is owned by a Filipino if its a corporation or association.
4.3.1.3 (e) Markings to be Used
- RP - 1234 Government
- RP - C1234 Civil
- RP - R1234 Restricted
- RP - X1234 Experimental
- RP - S1234 Sports
4.3.1.11 Identification Plate Required
- (a) The operator shall affix to each aircraft registered under the laws of the Republic of the Philippines an identification plate
- (1) Containing the marks of nationality and registration;
- (2) Made of fireproof metal or other fireproof material of suitable physical properties;
- (3) Secured to the aircraft in the prominent position, near the main entrance, or, in the case of a free balloon, affixed conspicuously to the exterior of the payload.
Certificate of Airworthiness (C of A)
- 8.2.1.2 & 8.2.1.8:
- Certificate given to an aircraft or component after applying to the regulatory agency of the state of design or state of registry.
Required Maintenance Inspections
- Annual inspection within the past 12 months or
- 100-hrs. inspection, whichever comes first
Minimum Flight and Navigational Equipment
- Airspeed Indicator
- Altimeter
- Vertical speed indicator
- Turn and slip indicator turn coordinator
- Magnetic Compass
- Outside temperature indicator
- Time piece which indicates hours, minutes, and seconds
(b) Whenever an aircraft is operating at night or when two pilots are required, each pilot’s station shall have separate flight instruments as listed above and additionally as follows.
- (8) An attitude indicator (artificial horizon); and
- (9) A stabilized direction indicator (directional gyroscope).
Engine Instrument Requirements:
- Fuel gauges for each tank
- Oil pressure indicator for each engine.
- Oil Temperature indicator for each engine.
- Tachometer for each engine.
Radio Equipment
No person may operate an aircraft unless it is equipped with radio equipment.

Frequency
7.3.3 Altitude Reporting Transponder
- No person may operate an aircraft in airspace that requires a pressure reporting transponder
- 7.8.5 (a) Emergency Locator Transmitter
▪ ALL AIRCRAFT SHALL EQUIPPED.
▪ ELT MUST REGISTERED AND PROGRAMMED WITH A DISTINCT UNIQUE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER.
▪ ELT batteries shall be replaced or recharged when the transmitter has been in used for more than one cumulative hour or 50% of useful life has expired.
‘▪ Expiration date for a replacement or recharged battery shall be legibly marked on the outside of the transmitter
Aircraft light required for all aircraft operating at night:
- Landing Light
- Anti-collision light system (Strobe Lights)
- Navigation/position Lights
- Illumination of flight instruments and
equipment necessary for the safe operation of aircraft - Lights in all passenger compartments
- Flashlight for each crew member station
(approval not required) - Beacon Light
