How do you do the Traction Cut Out Test/ESB?

A

Master Selector/Reverser FORWARD

Set Hand Pilot Valve

MCH to D1

Observe BC pressure reduces to 0kPa
Power/Braking Indicator illuminates green

Press ESB within 1.5 seconds and observe:
- BC pressure rises to 280kPa
- ES and Safety Loop indicators illuminate
- Power/braking indicator extinguished

MCH to 0 and reset ESB, observe:
- BC pressure to 110kPa
- ES and Safety Loop indicators extinguish

Turn Master Selector/Reverser to NEUTRAL. Trip light illuminates yellow

Headlights, Headboard, Marker lights

Exit cab and strike Trip

Ensure Safety Loop doesn’t reset

A

Ensure BC displaying 280kPa

Key IN and ON (activate cab)

Master Selector/Reverser to FORWARD

Set Pilot Valve and move MCH to D1

Observe:
- BC gauge stays in emergency
- Safety Loop indicator is illuminated
- Trip lowered status indicator extinguished
- No traction power is available
