A
  • Broad tendinous insertion of abductor muscle is under considerable strain
  • Subject to tendonitis
  • Subject to degeneration leading to tendon tears
  • Trochanteric bursa can also become inflamed
  • Similiar to rotator cuff problems of the shoulder
