A
  • Tenderness in anatomical snuff box

- Pain on compressing (Telescoping) the thumb metacarpal

Investigation of scaphoid fracture?

A
  • X-rays are difficult to visualise (takes 2 weeks to visualise sometimes)
  • Take 4 views (AP, lateral, 2 oblique)

Complications of scaphoid fracture?

A
  • Non-union (synovial fluid inhibiting fracture healing)

- AVN of proximal pole
