What is continuous training?

A

Continuous training is steady training with no rest periods and the exercising heart rate will not be high in intensity. This is used to improve cardiovascular fitness (aerobic fitness) and lasts for at least 15-20 minutes. Used by cyclists, swimmers and long distance athletes.

A

This type of training includes fast and slow running, and can be performed on a variety of terrains, e.g. hills. Suitable for football, netball and hockey, as these sports vary in intensity throughout.

A

Circuit training improves muscular endurance and cardiovascular fitness. It involves a variety of exercises to avoid working the same muscle groups consecutively, which are completed at a station for a set time.
