A state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being
What is holistic care?
Care that addresses many dimensions, that comprise of the whole person.
Wellness is….
Active state of being healthy, including of living a lifestyle that promotes good physical mental and emotional health.
Disease
pathological changes in the structure or function of the body and mind.
Illness
Response of a person to a disease.
Acute Illness
Includes a rapid onset of symptoms, and last only a relatively short time.
Health Promotion
To increase well being and health potential.

Conceptualize a persons level of health. Illustrates the ever change health that promotes adapts to changes in internal and external environments to maintain a state of well-beings.
Primary Health Promotion
Directed towards promoting health and preventing disease.
Secondary Health Promotion
Focus on screening for early detection for disease.

Starts after illness is diagnosed and treated.
