Unit 4 Flashcards
division of the cytoplasm into two new cells, mitosis results in two nuclei each with a duplicate set of chromosomes
cytokenesis
forms during plant cell cytokinesis midway between the divided nuclei
cell plate
final phase of mitosis, chromosomes begin to uncoil into a tangle of chromatin, nuclear membrane reforms around the chromatin, spindle breaks apart, nucleolus becomes visible
telophase
centromeres split separating sister chromatids into individual chromosomes, chromosomes move until they are near the poles of the spindle, ends when movement of the chromosomes stop
anaphase
chromosomes line up across the center of the cell, each sister chromatid is attached to its own spindle fiber
metaphase
