What use of force model does
Valuable framework for understanding and articulating the events associated with an incident involving a members use of force.
Decision to use force shall rest

De-escalation definition
Verbal and non verbal strategies intended to reduce the intensity of conflict or crisis encountered by police with intent of gaining compliance without the application of force, or if force is necessary. Reducing thr amount of force so as not to exceed the amount of force reasonably required.
Use of force intermediate when
Prevent themselves overpowered when violently attacked
Prevent prisoner being taken from custody
Disarm apparently dangerous person armed offensive weapon
Control potentially violent situation when other force options not viable
Any other lawful and justifiable purpose.
