What is Environmental Science?

Environmental science is the study of the environment and aims to solve environmental problems. Incorporating a vast subject area, a goal of environmental science is to understand human relationships and perceptions and, thus, environmental policies.

Graduates in environmental sciences may go on to pursue a doctorate and become involved in research and teaching. Researching subjects such as global climate change, pollution control and mitigation, and evaluating alternative energy systems, ESs hope to make positive change. ESs are also employed in research management by water treatment facility, nationally. Activist groups pushing for environmental change also employ environmental scientists to provide research to give their claims credibility.
