A

Add Solution A and Solution B, and if it immediately turns red, it is positive for nitrite reductase; NO COLOR change = could suggest both nitrate & NITRITE reductase or neither reductases

What should you add if there is no color change after adding both solutions in Nitrate test?

A

Zinc powder. If solution turns red after adding zinc , Nitrate reductase is NOT present. WHY? Zinc will react with the solutions that were first added to form nitrite, so color change at this point will not show if nitrate reductase is present
