Q

explain the mutation process

A

mutation results in the production of new alleles creating genetic variation within the population. these new alleles can result in organisms with characteristics that make better adapted to their environment.

Q

variation within a population

A

genetic variation within a population is improtant because it provides a range of genetic material for naturalslection to act on. the great hee the variation within the populations the greater the chance of survival

Q

natural selection

A

more organism being made than the environment can hold
completion between organisms starts for survival
the ones that are best adapted to its environment are the ones that will survive and produce their gene to there offspring
ones who weren’t well adapted will die and their allele will disappear if the population

Q

genetic isolation barrier

A

original population gets split up into two different sub populations by genetic isolation barrier
the isolation barrier prevents from gene flow beteeen sun populations
each sub population has a different environment and is used to different environments
over time different mutations will occur between the sun populations
individuals with advantage will be selected in each population they won’t be the same
after a long period of time only the advantage mutation will survive and pass their genetic materials into the new generation
