What is the purpose of the Harvard Step Test
Tests Cardiovascular endurance. The protocol: step up and down a bench as many times as you can for 5 minutes
What is the purpose of the One-minute sit-up
Tests abdominal muscular endurance. The protocol: do as many sit ups as you can in a minute
What is the purpose of the One-minute press-up
Tests muscular endurance. The protocol: do as many press ups as you can in a minute
What is the purpose of the Vertical jump
Tests leg power. The protocol: jump as high as you can and mark your score of where your hand was
What is the purpose of the the Sit and reach
Measures the flexibility of the hamstrings and lower back muscles. The protocol: keep your legs straight and reach as far as you can

Tests muscular strength in the hand. The protocol: grip as hard as you can

Tests cardiovascular fitness. The protocol: run round a 100 meter perimeter for 12 minutes

Tests a person’s speed. The protocol: sprint 30 meters as quick as you can
