3 Flashcards
(32 cards)
What is the natural bed or channel of arroyos, esteros, creek or rivers?
It shall be the ground within the banks covered by water during the highest floods which does not cause inundation.
What defines navigable esteros or rivers?
They shall be those which contain sufficient water to allow rafts, boats, cascos, etc., to float thereon and engage in transportation or other activities.
What is a buffer zone?
It shall refer to a strip of land with natural or established vegetation which provides an added layer of protection to the natural forest including mangrove forest.
(Section 57, DAO 2007-29)
What does steepness indicate?
The contour interval between any contour lines indicates steepness.
How is the relative error of closure in primary control calculated?
It is the result of linear error divided by perimeter.
What is the maximum distance for isolated survey reference points?
In isolated survey reference points from the designated corner, 1” of the tract shall be within but not beyond 2 kilometers.
What should survey field data be recorded in?
All survey field data shall be recorded in the field notes by the geodetic engineer or his authorized assistant and be written clearly in hard pencil or in permanent waterproof ink.
What correction is added to the astronomical-azimuth for points north of the Central Meridian?
Convergency correction shall be added.
How is the true azimuth of the line calculated in morning observation?
The true azimuth of the line (station occupied to mark) is calculated as 360° - A + (Angle sun to mark) when the mark observed is on southeast and on the right side of the sun.
Who issues authority or order in Land Classifications or Delimitation surveys?
The Secretary of DENR shall issue it.
How is the back-azimuth calculated in primary control measurements?
At the second station, add 180 degrees to the forward azimuth of the preceding line. Subtract 360 degrees, if the sum exceeds 360 degrees.
Which office should be notified regarding land surveys affecting roads within residential areas?
Notice and consultation be made on the minimum widths of roadways to the Local Government Planning and Development Office.
What spheroid is used for plotting maps and plans of all land surveys in the Philippines?
Clarke spheroid of 1866.
Which court disregards adverse claims on titled properties during cadastral survey?
Regional Trial Court shall disregard them unless supported by an order.
What is the polar distance of the sun?
It is the arc formed by the sun and north celestial pole.
Why does parallax occur in a transit or level telescope?
Because the cross-hairs are not in the focal plane of the eyepiece.
What happens if the limit of the map is exceeded?
It will run to the edge of the map.
What is local sidereal time?
The time obtained by observation of the star.
What areas do Provincial Base Maps comprise?
They shall comprise areas within spheroidal quadrangle of one degree and thirty minutes of latitude and one degree longitude.
Who must show their field notes and field notes cover before an official authorized to subscribe?
Geodetic Engineer in the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
What is personal error?
Errors due to the limitations of human senses of sight or touch.
What is the maximum allowable azimuth error of closure for secondary traverse?
It shall not be greater than one part in ten thousand.
What is the tangent method in solar observation?
By using a white screen behind the eyepiece.
What is an arroyo?
Where water flows continuously or intermittently throughout the year on a narrow natural bed or channel.
