17
Q

How long will the battery last on standby power?

A

30 minutes

90 minutes on the 753

18
Q

How is landing gear and flap extension affected is battery power is lost without an operating HDG (767 only)?

A

Flaps and gear cannot be extended

19
Q

Where to find the list of systems inoperative when on HDG power?

A

QRH Chapter 6 (AC BUS OFF procedure)

20
Q

What does the illumination of a UTILITY BUS OFF light mean?

A

The affected utility bus has been load shed. The associated galley bus will also have been shed

21
Q

What conditions can cause a utility bus to load shed?

A

Both thrust levers advanced with a single power source (on ground)

An overload

Single-generator operation (in flight)

Starting engines with the APU providing electrical power (while ENG START selector is in GND)

When one engine is running, only the bus on the other side will shed during the second engine start

22
Q

How would you know if a galley bus has been load shed?

A

From a report by the cabin crew, since there is no flight deck indication and a galley bus can be load shed without the corresponding utility bus shedding

23
Q

What does an EXT PWR AVAIL light indicate?

A

External power is plugged in and power quality is acceptable. The ground handling bus is powered

24
Q

What does an EXT PWR ON light indicate?

A

External power is powering at least one main AC bus

25
What does an AC BUS OFF light indicate?
The respective AC bus is unpowered or has failed
26
What does a generator DRIVE light indicate?
Either a high IDG oil temperature, or a low IDG oil pressure
27
What does an APU GEN OFF light mean?
The APU is operating, and either: The Generator Control Breaker is open because of a fault, or the APU GEN switch is off
28
What does a BAT DISCH light indicate?
The affected battery is discharging
29
What does an illuminated STBY POWER OFF light indicate?
The Standby AC and/or Standby DC bus is unpowered or has failed
30
What does an illuminated GEN CONT OFF light indicate?
The Generator Control Breaker is open
31
Location of the Electrical Panel?
Left Overhead
32
Function of the BUS TIE switches?
AUTO - The following bus ties are armed: the respective AC bus tie, the respective Flight Instrument Transfer bus tie, the DC bus tie breaker OFF - opens respective AC bus tie, opens DC bus tie breaker, opens respective flight instrument bus tie, resets fault trip circuitry
33
If engines and/or the APU are running and the EXT PWR switch is pressed, what will power the AC buses?
External power
34
What does a BUS TIE ISLN light indicate?
The respective AC bus tie has opened due to a fault, or the respective BUS TIE switch is off
35
Location/Function of the FLT INSTR BUS PWR switch?
Forward Panel, right side (only on 767) Off (no ALTN) - HDG powers captain’s flight instruments ALTN - HDG powers FO’s flight instruments
36
After engine start with APU or ext pwr on and the GEN CONT switch ON, what will power the airplane?
The IDG will power the respective main AC bus. The previous source (APU or ext) will continue to power the other main AC bus
37
How can the Galley busses be reset if they are tripped offline on the ground?
Reset the associated UTILITY BUS switch
38
What is the load shedding sequence?
Galley busses, Utility busses, Individual components on the main AC busses (items may or may not be automatically restored)
39
When will Hyd Pump C2 be shed?
All electric Hyd pumps turned on, and only external or APU power is supplying the aircraft (i.e. just before engine start) PRESS light will show in pump switch
40
How many T/Rs are there? What are the indications of a T/R failure?
Two, one per main AC bus An EICAS status message
