7ER Landing Gear Flashcards
(31 cards)
How can the autobrakes be disarmed?
Application of pedal braking
Moving speedbrake lever from UP position after landing
Advancing either thrust lever after landing
Selecting OFF or DISARM on the autobrakes selector
A fault in the autobrake or anti-skid system
What is the indication that the autobrakes have disarmed?
AUTO BRAKES light illuminates
(adv AUTOBRAKES)
What is commanded by the autobrake selector?
A specific deceleration rate (braking will decrease if other deceleration devices are used)
What are the requirements for the autobrakes to operate?
1, 2, 3, 4 or MAX AUTO selected on selector
Normal brake system functioning (or reserve brakes on 757)
What is the meaning of a GEAR light?
One or more landing gear disagrees with the gear lever position
(caution GEAR DISAGREE)
What is the meaning of a GEAR light in conjunction with a green gear light?
The associated gear is still locked down with the gear lever in the up position
What is the meaning of a DOORS light?
One or more gear doors disagrees with the gear lever position
(adv GEAR DOORS)
Where are the brake temperatures displayed?
If installed, on the EICAS STATUS page
What brake temperature range is indicated by cyan numbers in cyan boxes?
1 or 2 (initial range)
What brake temperature range is indicated by white numbers in cyan boxes?
3 to 4 (normal range)
What brake temperature range is indicated by white numbers in white boxes?
5 to 9 (high range), will also illuminate BRAKE TEMP light
What is the meaning of a white ISLN light on the RESERVE BRAKES & STRG panel
The C1 hyd pump has been isolated to provide reserve brakes and steering (767 only)
On the 767 without an HDG, what effect will a loss of both AC busses have on the landing gear and flaps?
Flight beyond 30 minutes may result in a complete loss of battery power and the inability to deploy the gear and flaps by either normal or alternate methods
What is the meaning of a BRAKE SOURCE light?
Both normal and alternate brake pressures are low. If the Reserve Brakes switch is on, reserve brake pressure is also low.
The accumulator is the only current source of brake pressure.
(associated BRAKE SOURCE advisory)
Which brake systems have anti-skid protection?
All brake systems have ant-skid protection?
Which brake systems have autobrake capability?
Normal brakes & reserve brakes (757)
Normal brakes only (767)
What does the amber band on the BRAKE PRESS indicator signify?
Accumulator pre-charge. No brake pressure is available in this range.
What is the hydrailic source for normal brakes?
The right hyd system
What is the hyd source for alternate brakes?
Left (757)
Center (767)
What is the hyd source for reserve brakes?
Right (757)
Center (767)
What are the conditions for RTO autobrake operation?
On ground, groundspeed above 85 knots, both thrust levers at idle
What is the meaning of a BRAKE TEMP light?
One or more brakes is in the high range (5 to 9)
What is the function of the LOCK OVRD switch?
It releases the landing gear lock if pushed
What is the meaning of an ANTISKID light on the overhead panel or an OFF light in the ANTISKID switch?
A fault has been detected in the anti-skid system
(adv ANTISKID or ANTISKID OFF)
