Q

On the 767 without an HDG, what effect will a loss of both AC busses have on the landing gear and flaps?

A

14
Q

What is the meaning of a BRAKE SOURCE light?

A

Both normal and alternate brake pressures are low. If the Reserve Brakes switch is on, reserve brake pressure is also low.

16
Q

Which brake systems have autobrake capability?

A

Normal brakes & reserve brakes (757)

Normal brakes only (767)

17
Q

What does the amber band on the BRAKE PRESS indicator signify?

A

Accumulator pre-charge. No brake pressure is available in this range.

18
Q

What is the hydrailic source for normal brakes?

A

The right hyd system

19
Q

What is the hyd source for alternate brakes?

A

Left (757)

Center (767)

20
Q

What is the hyd source for reserve brakes?

A

Right (757)

Center (767)

21
Q

What are the conditions for RTO autobrake operation?

A

On ground, groundspeed above 85 knots, both thrust levers at idle

22
Q

What is the meaning of a BRAKE TEMP light?

A

One or more brakes is in the high range (5 to 9)

23
Q

What is the function of the LOCK OVRD switch?

A

It releases the landing gear lock if pushed

24
Q

What is the meaning of an ANTISKID light on the overhead panel or an OFF light in the ANTISKID switch?

A

A fault has been detected in the anti-skid system

(adv ANTISKID or ANTISKID OFF)

25
When do the autobrakes provide a deceleration rate?
After main gear touchdown
26
What is the meaning of an AUTO BRAKES light?
The autobrakes have disarmed or are inoperative (AUTOBRAKES adv)
27
How is the parking brake set and released?
To set: depress brake pedals, pull handle To release: depress brake pedals
28
What is the meaning of a PARK BRAKE light?
The parking brake is set (PARKING BRAKE adv)
29
What is the function of the ALTN GEAR EXTEND switch?
OFF - normal landing gear operation DN - the gear extends via the alternate extension system
30
When would alternate gear extension be needed, and how does it work?
Would be needed in the event of a loss of left hydraulics (757) or center hydraulics (767). Uses Hot Battery Bus power to electrically unlock the gear and door locks, then the gear and doors freefall (the doors do not close)
31
What is the means of providing the most braking on landing?
Full manual braking, which provides a quicker deceleration than MAX AUTO braking
