obstruction at site of invagination (ex. tumor) –> inflm –> inc production of exudate, hyperemia –> ischemia
- bowel obstr causes inc intraluminal pressure and pushes against the wall and constricts the vessels in the bowel wall –> ischemia –> infarction

how does peritonitis occur

A

necrosis of tissue can result in perforation of that area of the bowel and the bacteria within the intestine can infect the necrotic tissue –> bacterial peritonitis
