- Depressed individuals attribute events using the following characteristics:
- Learned Helplessness
- Attributions – explanatory style
- Stable – the bad situation will last for along time
- Internal – they are the one at fault
- Global – all of life is bad

Tourette Syndrome
A
- Tourette (too-RET) Syndrome is a disorder that involves repetitive or unwanted sounds (tics) that can’t be easily controlled. Such as repeatedly blinking eyes, shrugging shoulders or blurt out unusual sounds of offensive words.
- Tics typically show up between ages 2 and 15, with the average being around 6 years of age.
- Males are about three to four times more likely than females to develop Tourette syndrome.
-symptoms:
- Tics – sudden, brief, intermittent movements or sounds
- Severe symptoms might significantly interfere with communication, daily functioning and quality of life

Oppositional Defiant Disorder
A
- Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) includes a frequent and ongoing pattern of anger, irritability, arguing and defiance toward parents and other authority figures
- ODD generally begins during preschool years sometimes it may develop later, but almost always before early teen years.
- Symptoms:
- ODD also includes being spiteful and seeking revenge, a behavior called vindictiveness.
- These emotional and behavioral issues cause serious problems with family life, social activities, school and work.
