Boston Massacre
An event of conflict between British soldiers and colonists that ended in soldiers firing into the crowd, causing casualties. A catalyst for the American Revolution.

A protest in 1773 where Colonists boarded a British ship and dumped a large amount of tea in the ocean as a response to taxation of tea.
Congress
A legislative body responsible for making/passing federal laws and representing interest of the public.
The ‘Shot Heard ‘Round the World
A shot fired in April 1775, while the British army came to seize weapons and capture rebels. Changed the tone of the revolution by escalating violence.
Loyalists
Colonists that wanted the colonies to stay with Britain.
Patriots/Rebels
Colonists who fought in the American Revolution against British rule.
Declaration of Independence
A document written by congress outlining the rights patriots believed were deserved.
George Washington
Leader of the Patriots in the American Revolutionary War, Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army.
Battle of Yorktown
The last major battle of the American Revolutionary War located in Yorktown, Virginia in 1781.
