Korean Wars

A

Korea was divided: Soviets supported North Korea, and the USA sent forces for South Korea. China, Korea’s neighbor, joined North Korea. Chinese forces matches NATO. North and South Korea signed a truce in 1953, neither side victorious.

Vietnam Wars

A

North Vietnam was also supported by the Soviets and China; the USA defended the South. Rebels called the Viet Cong from the South fought for communism against their nation with North support. USA soldiers collected in South Vietnam. The United States withdrew in 1968.
