A

Less than 6 weeks =

  • bulk forming e.g. ispaghula husk and osmotic e.g. lactulose
  • lidocaine
  • paracetamol and ibuprofen analgesic

A
  • More than 6 weeks
  • Give rectal ointment = GTN ointment
  • SE = headaches

Alt = dilitazem or nifedipine
