Colon only

What is used to treat diarrhoea in UC
A
Loperamide and codeine but NOT in acute as can lead to toxic megacolon

A
Topical aminosalicylate
If remission is not reached, add oral. If still no improvement, add oral or topical corticosteroid

A
IV Corticosteroids e.g. Hydrocortisone or methylprednisolone

Bone marrow suppression
