Mild to moderate pain, fever and arthritis

Acetylcysteine is antidote for overdose
Naproxen Safety
Increased risk for heart attack and stroke
NSAID and ASPIRIN Safety
Anti-platelet use also ototoxicity risk is present. Reye’s syndrome can occurs if AS is used for viral infections

Can cause GI bleeds. Stop one week before surgery. do not take with anticoagulants. Take with food
Morphine, Hydromorphone, Codeine, Meperidine, Oxycodone - NCLEX tips
Will cause respiratory depression
Don’t give for breaths under 10
Monitor for constipation
Addiction can occur
Take w/food to prevent Nausea
Morphine, Hydromorphone, Safety Point
Hydromorphone is much stronger than morphine
Codeine Safety Point
Also used for cough suppression
Meperidine Safety
Increases intracranial pressure do not give for ICP
Oxycodone Safety
Don’t give if allergic to aceaminohen
