Enoxaparin Assessment
Make sure med is clear with no particles before injection. Monitor for signs of bleeding
Enoxaparin Contraindications
Do not give if history of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia
Stop 24 hours before surgery
Don’t give with other blood thinners
Enoxaparin benefits over Heparin
Considered a low molecular weight heparin (LMWH)
Once daily injection
No labs needed
