Q

What is shadow IT?

A

Refers to using information technology systems
and resources outside the official IT department’s control. This can include employees
using personal devices for work, subscribing to Cloud services without approval,
or developing their applications. While it offers flexibility and agility, shadow IT can pose security risks, compliance issues, and data privacy concerns due to a lack of oversight and management.

Q

Whats insecure API?

A

It enables two programs to communicate, but can become insecure if certain security standards are not adhered to. Some threats that can hide inside an API include code logic flaws, weak authentication rules, weak session management, and insecure server configurations, to name a few. Another security issue might be storing or sending information in an unencrypted form, or sending unnecessary information
that the user would want to keep private.
