Explain the water cycle.

Answer 1

Energy from the sun evaporates water from seas, lakes, leaves, soil
This accumulated water condenses into clouds
The droplets in the clouds get heavy enough to precipitate back onto earth in liquid form

This water is absorbed back into soil and lakes etc.

What are the 5 stores that Carbon is stored on Earth?

Answer 2

In the air (carbon dioxide)
In plants
In the soil
In fossil fuels
In animals

How is the carbon cycle done through photosynthesis?

Answer 3

Plants take in the CO2 and convert it to glucose
The CO2 can now be passed back into the atmosphere through respiration

OR passed onto animals that eat the plant
!Animals could respire too, to release the CO2 back into the environment

Question 4

What happens to the carbon when plants and animals that store carbon, die?

Answer 4

The organisms decay until all CO2 is released back into the atmosphere
OR they might slowly turn into fosssil fuels
These fossil fuels can be burned so that CO2 can go back into the atmosphere
