How do dissolved substances get to the cells?
A
They leak out of the capillaries, cover the cells, and diffuse in.

What is blood made up of?
A
- plasma (55%) contains glucose, co2, water etc.
- red blood cells (45%)
- white blood cells and platelets (<1%)

Properties of water
A
- polar molecule (h2 end is positive, o end is negative)
- intermolecular hydrogen bonds
- liquid at room temp due to intermolecular forces
- thermally stable (slow to cool and heat)
- it can dissolve polar substances eg. Vitamin c
