My name is Devina Ruthland. I’m currently taking a break from university to explore different interests, and I’m looking for a role where I can contribute and learn. I’ve been a longtime Bulk Barn customer, and I enjoy baking and being in this environment, so I’m excited about the opportunity to work here. I’m reliable, punctual, and enjoy helping customers, which I think would make me a good fit for your team.
How would you handle a difficult or upset customer?
If a customer was upset, I would first listen carefully to their concerns so they feel heard, then repeat back what I understood to make sure I’m clear. I would try to resolve the issue within my ability, and if I couldn’t, I’d calmly involve a manager. I would also pay attention to how the manager handles it so I can learn for future situations.
How do you prioritize tasks when the store gets busy?
In busy situations, I first stay calm to avoid mistakes. Then I quickly assess all tasks and prioritize them based on urgency, completing them step by step. If additional help is available, I’ll ask for it to increase efficiency. At my previous job, this approach helped me manage busy periods smoothly.

If a customer asks about an item, I would be able to answer confidently or assist them in finding it.
