• Acute hyperkalemia in pts needing hemodialysis
• Hypotension from calcium channel blocker toxicity
• Wide QRS complex rhythms in hyperkalemia
• Magnesium sulfate OD
• Hypocalcemia

• For renal dialysis CPA, 1g IV or IO push, maybe be repeated once
• In conscious pt, administer slowly ~1mL/min

• Cardiac arrhythmias
• May cause ventricular standstill in beating heart
