5

When cell cycle-specific drugs work

When Cell is diving

6

Hydroxyurea hallmarks

7

Methotrexate hallmarks

Immunosuppressive and antiinflammatory activity. Stop folic acid supplements, DON’T take Warfarin while in this drug, Leucovorin “rescue” med,

8

Mitotic Inhibitors

Paclitaxel

Cardiotoxic, bronchospasm (premedicate), loose nails,

11

Topoisomerase Inhibitors (specific)

Does not cross blood brain barrier, It can cause cardiac issues,

Do not give filgrastin until 24 hours after dose
NVD (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
Hematuria. Hemorrhagic cystitis.

14

Alkylating Agents (Cyclophosphamide)

Widely used, can cause hemorrhagic cystitis
Protect bladder with Mesna, fluids, PH checks
Cardio and nephrotoxic, myelosupression 7-14 days
N&V 2-4 hours lasting 24
Decreases dig and phenytoin levels
Increases anticoagulant effect
Needs bicarb stand by.
