CELL-MEDIATED IMMUNE RESPONSE Flashcards

(6 cards)

1
Q

What is the cell-mediated immune response? (1)

A

brought about by the activity of T cells, T cells will bind to an antigen-presenting cell that has antigens from a pathogen on its surface. In doing so, an activated T helped cell is formed that releases cytokines. The release of cytokines stimulates the activated T cell to divide repeatedly to form a clone.
