The higher the SES, more priority is place on education and thus more opportunity is present.

Students from lower SES might also have less parental support and therefore earn lower grades in school than their high SES counterparts. The result is cyclical: lower SES students tend to remain at a lower SES status due to limited educational opportunities, while their higher SES peers tend to remain at a higher SES status because of more educational opportunities.

Parents can visit the school and talk to teachers often, check their children's homework and help with projects, and support the behavioral and academic goals established by the school.
