The Philippines
And archipelago of islands occupied by culturally diverse peoples which was unified by the Spanish in their effort to catch up and create their own trading post empire. They named the Philippines after the Spanish king Philip the second
Trading post empires
What’s the Portuguese created in the Indian Ocean is commonly known as a trading post Empire, for they aimed to control commerce, not large territories or populations, and to do so by force of arms rather than by economic competition
The British East India Company
A British trading post Empire focused on today’s India. Focused on Cotton textiles and pepper this empire slowly evolved into colonial domination
The Dutch East India Company
A Dutch trading post Empire focused on the islands of Indonesia. Through force they took control over many islands which could give them spices like cloves, cinnamon, not tonight, and mace. Dutch economy soared and local economy of Indonesia went downhill. The Dutch East India Company also established itself briefly on the island of Taiwan and when they found that the Taiwanese people were unwilling to take part in commercial agriculture they opened the island to large-scale Chinese immigration. This made Taiwan an ethnically Chinese country. Eventually the Dutch East India Company’s rule over Indonesia became known as cultural domination.
Tokugawa
Military commanders known as the shogun from the tokugawa clan who helped to politically unify Japan. They saw Europeans as a threat to their country’s newly established unity. They expelled Christian missionaries and suppressed the practice of Christianity. For two centuries the shogunate largely closed the country off from trade.
Silver drain
The training of rich silver deposits in Bolivia. Spanish America produced 85% of the world silver because of places like Bolivia. Silver was shipped across the Pacific to the Philippines and then traded in Asia. This silver made the Spanish Empire incredibly rich
Potosi
A spanish American silver mining city in Bolivia with 160,000 people living there making it the largest city in the America is an equivalent to the size of London Amsterdam and Sibio at the time. It’s wealthy European elite lived in luxury while the city’s Native American miners worked in extremely horrendous conditions

The kingdom turns to a rigorous involvement in the slave trade under strict royal control. The army conducted annual slave raids in the government soon became dependent on a slave trade for its essential revenues.
Ayuba sulieman diallo
A wealthy Muslim African man who had a two wives and 4 kids. He was mistaken by an English merchant named Capt. Pike and traded as a slave to an american slave owner. Because he behave differently than other slaves locals decided to purchase his freedom. Upon earning his freedom he moves back to his home and his family in Africa. In his life he resumes being a slave owner
