Believe immigrants strains services e.g. NHS, schools

Believe crime has increased

People believe social norms have shifted and immigrants have brought a culture of not working as hard and ‘sitting around’

A

Core = London, East, South East

Periphery = Northern / Western areas

Many move as economic migrants due to higher paid jobs, however just as many leave due to wanting families etc…

North-South divide due to neoliberalism policies causing deindustrialisation (Thatcher)

US domination on global retail and entertainment challenges identity

A

80% global music market owned by 3 American companies

70% Australian newspapers owned by American company

Many south Asian countries view westernised culture e.g. clothing as a sign of wealth, creates homogenisation and threatens identity

Creates less media plurality, which is bad as should be getting info from several sources, otherwise there is too much control
