Money Transfers
Remittances now easy to send which encourages economic migration e.g. Mexico to USA
Online Education
Those in rural areas can easily get educated online, so more likely to move to urban areas for high paid jobs
Smart Phones
Able to better plan journeys and gain information about routes and borders, making it after and easier to migrate out of the country
Assisted Passenger Migration
Scheme allowing UK citizens to migrate to Australia for cheaper with the promise of jobs, housing etc… as they had labour shortage
However, now too many people wanting to migrate so very strict rules in place
The British Empires influence on migration
Colonisation of Caribbean + Africa + South Asia meant many migrated to Britain e.g. Windrush Generation
British Nationality Act led meant Commonweath citizens had right to British citizenship so many came from India + Jamaica
This migration was also popular as many coming from these countries spoke English and were educated in English e.g. Indian doctors
