The Sui Dynesty

The Chinese Dynesty that began in 589 with Wendi as emperor

This Chinese Dynesty was called the "Middle Kingdom". They liked Confucianism, used regional hegemony, and established the grand canal and equal field system

This empire constantly changed where their military commanders were stationed, filled their beauraucracy with aristocrats, produced silk, books, and steel weapons; used economic guilds(such as in Europe!); experimented with different kinds of agriculture (champa rice from Vietnam), water systems, fertalizer; created neo-Confucianism , and bound feet

This area was controlled by Han China until about 110 CE

This Dynesty was formed by regional tribes of Korea in the 110s ce

Koryo Dynesty

This Dynesty evolved after the Tang and the Silla compromised(Silla recognized t as overlords, they withdrew). They ruled from 800s-1892, favored Buddhism and discovered the movable type

This area was under Chinese control from 600-1450, and absorbed the beliefs quite well

Silly Dynesty

This Dynesty ruled from 668-late 800s CE in Korea

Japan

This area had little contact with China. They practiced Shintoism, a form of animism involving nature spirits called Kami. Each Uji(clan) worshipped special Kami

Fujiwara

These Japanese rulers ruled from 794-1185 CE. They favored Buddhism, but appreciated Confucian values. They produced the "tale of genji", and used Shoguns who ruled in the name of the King.

The Minamoto clan

This clan fought with the Taira clan and won, beginning their rule in 1185. They developed a "bafuku" or military government, and used a system of feudalism in which regional lords reigned and one gained status through military achievement(unless you were a mercenary). Samurais (mercenaries)were used, they used the bushido code and commited seppuku if they did not follow it.

Temujin(Genghis Khan)

This man organized the small Mongolian nomadic groups into one pyramidal army by 1206, took Jin(Chinese) Capitol in 1225, and died in 1227

Kubilai Khan

This this man completed the conquest of China in 1279, leader of the Khanate of the Golden Horde

Il-Khan

This khanate conquered the Abbasids, converted their legal code to accommodate islam, and made peace

Khanate of Jagadi/Ottoman Turks(which Osman founded, he was originally Seljuk)

This Khanate was lead to attack Il-Khan in the 1400s, breaking the peace, by a Turkish man who settled in antolia

This area was cut off from Europe and mostly destroyed by the mongols because of its stubbornness

This area was conquered by Kubilai Khan by 1279, because they were weak and paying tribute to the Jurchen's

Yuan Dynesty

This Dynesty was founded by Kubilai Khan in the 1280s, favoring merchants and demoting Confucian scholar gentry. They also tried twice to attack Japan, but failed because of typhoons("divine winds"/kamikaze)

Ming Dynesty

This Dynesty was founded by a peasant after the decline of the Yuan Dynesty. The king who used mandarins to watch his delegates.
