STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT

Key Principles of Human Growth and Development:

Cephalocaudal: Growth and development proceed from the head downward, meaning infants gain control of their head before their lower body: By 6 to 12months of age, infants starts to gain leg control and may be able to crawl, stand, or walk.

Proximodistal: Development moves from the center of the body outward.

Continuity: Development is a continuous process, with new skills building upon previously acquired ones.

Sequentiality: Development follows a specific sequence, with one stage leading to the next.
