Cloud Computing Flashcards
(14 cards)
What is cloud computing?
Cloud computing offers convenient and on-demand access to shared computing resources such as (storage, applications, and services).
Describe Hypervisor?
What is a virtual machine?
What are the six advantages of cloud?
Variable cost
Can scale
Eliminate guesswork in capacity planning
Increase speed and agility on demand
Eliminate the expense for a data center
Establish a global presence in minutes
What are the 3 cloud deployment models?
On Premises, Public Cloud, Hybrid Cloud
Describe the benefits of ON-Premises deployment
-Private cloud
-Computing Resources from Enterprise reside in the data center
-Low latency due to being local
-Offers dedicated resources
-improves the efficiency of existing resources by virtualization
-Security is locally controlled
-Access is not dependent on the Internet
-Lacks most benefits of cloud computing
Describe the benefits of the Public cloud
High Elastic
All hardware, supporting software, and apps reside in the cloud.
Describe the benefits of the Hybrid Cloud
Uses both on-premises and Public cloud resources
Sometimes used to phase migration to the cloud.
Low latency
Raid scaling
What is IaaS?
It is a cloud service that provides the infrastructure to an enterprise, such as networks, storage, and computing services. The customer only pays for the resources.
Describe PaaS?
Cloud providers provide IaaS and hardware and operating system services so the customer can focus on applications.
Describe SaaS
Cloud provider offers complete applications without the customer needing to maintain and update them. Example: Office 365
