Q

CP9 Method

A
  1. Set apparatus pulley fixed to edge of desk, string passing over; one end attached to trolley and other to hanging mass, light gates at either end of ramp
  2. Masses and card placed in trolley
  3. Release trolley and record velocity through each gate and time taken to travel between gate
  4. Repeat readings for different values of m
  5. Calculate mean time/velocity for each value of m

Q

Eval CP9

A

Height of card
- Should be tall enough to trigger light gate
Straight line path
- Ensure trolley travels in straight line for accurate velocity and time
Air resistance
- increases resultant force, decreases velocity
