BCIS & Spons for cost data
BRE and British Standards for technical data
What are the different document types that BRE produce?
Digest, Good Building Guides and Reports.
What is CIS?
The Construction Information Service.
What is the difference between cost data on BCIS and Spons?
BCIS can be used for early stage cost estimates or benchmarking as it provides elemental costs (floors roofs) from completed projects.
SPONS can be used for more detailed pricing as it provides detailed item-by-item costs for materials, labour, and prelims using published rates.
Summarise Summers-Inmans data policy?
Outlines that all data collected or received must be stored on our case management system and be kept in line with UK GDPR and Data Protection ACT 2018. Software should be used for business purposes only and business data should be accessed using company password protected laptops not personal devices.
What legislation is applicable to data management in the UK?
UK General Data Protection Regulation and Data Protection Act 2018
What are the consequences of breaching the Data Protection Act?
A fine of upto 4% of the company’s annual turnover.
