A

To end the democratic deficit
- wales and Scotland had to deal with 4 consecutive conservative govs after overwhelming voting for Labour .

2022 Supreme Court in relation to Scotland

A

November, ruled that Scotland act 1998 don’t give Scottish parliament power to unilaterally (do by themself) legislate for independence referendum but its a power for the Uk Parliament.
This shows the UK Supreme Court power to clarify powers of devolved bodies. Parliamentary sovereignty.

For England, powers devolved to others raised this.
-in 2004, there was a vote in university tuition fees in England. Labour proposed it under Blair . Crucially Scottish MPs voted in favour even tho tuition fees abolished in Scotland under devolution and policy didn’t affect their Unis.
