DSDM products Flashcards
(17 cards)
What are the 14 DSDM products
Terns of reference, business case, prioritised requirements lists, solution architecture definition, development approach definition, delivery plan, management approach definition, feasibility assessment, foundations summary, evolving solution, time box plan, time box review record, project review record
Two types of products
Evolving (change over the project) and milestone (remain fixed - also known as governance to show compliance)
Terms of reference
High level definition for the driver/top level objectives
Aim is to scope and justify feasibility phase
Business case
Vision and justification for project from a business perspective. Describes the proposed changed business, both incrementally and at end of project. Basically is the project worth the time, cost and effort.
Outlined during feasibility then basis for approval at the end of foundations, then reviewed after each increment.
Prioritised requirements list (PRL)
MoSCoW requirements - prioritised
Begins in feasibility and describes the scope during foundations, but can change as further detail appears
Solution architecture definition (SAD)
High level design framework for the solution - makes scope clear without constraints and covers business and technical (eg a proposed mock up of a building development). The WHAT.
Development approach definition (DAD)
Definition of tools, techniques, customs, practices and standards applied to the evolutionary development of the solution. Quality assurance, including testing and review. The HOW.
Delivery plan
Schedule of project increments and time boxes that make the upcoming increment. Not task level.
Management approach definition (MAD)
From a management perspective how to organise and plan a project: engagement, demonstration of progress and reporting (if necessary).
Outlined in feasibility, baselines in foundations and only evolved if circumstances change or it needs improving.
Feasibility assessment
Snapshot of how it exists at end of feasibility phase.
Foundations summary
Snapshot of the evolving business, solution and management products as they exist at the end of the foundations phase - should the project go ahead?
Evolving solution
Made up of all components of the ultimate solution + deliverables. They can either be complete, baseline or work in progress.
Time box plan
Provides the depth and detail for each time box plan, giving objectives and deliverables and activities + resources for the deliverables.
Created by SDT on a team board as either: work to do, in progress or done.
Time box review record
Feedback from each review that takes place in a time box, describing what has been achieved + any feedback that may influence plans going forward
Project review report
A document updated incrementally at the end of each increment. It should capture feedback from the review, confirming what has/has not been done, capture learning points, describe business benefits.
Benefits assessment
Describes how the benefits gave actually accrued after a period of use in live operation.
6 Milestone products
Terms of reference, benefits assessment, time box review record, feasibility assessment, foundations summary, project review report
